01 Adaptive Design for an Effective Wearing Experience

Constructed from a high-tech and breathable knit, the GenuTrain effectively adapts to the contours of the knee to optimise the fit and mitigate slippage or migration for an effective wearing experience during both low and high intensity performance. This perfect fit is reinforced by the integrated thermoplastic medial and lateral stays, which ensure the GenuTrain remains well-positioned during any manoeuvre. 

 

02 Anatomical Soft Zone for Enhanced Wearing Comfort

An integrated expansion zone at the popliteal site enables the fabric to seamlessly adapt during movement and bending without pinching of the material on the skin, thereby ensuring comfort during wear. 

 

03 Innovative Knit for Optimal Therapeutic Effect

Crafted with Bauerfeind’s patented Train knit fabric, the GenuTrain Knee Support provides targeted relief and stabilisation of the knee joint through physiological and mechanosensory stimulation. The Train knit fabric exerts class 2 medical-grade compression to stimulate physiological healing through improved blood and oxygen circulation to soft tissue and muscles. The enhanced circulation optimises anti-inflammatory responses and swelling management to reduce recurring effusion, oedema and pain. Joint stabilisation is further enabled through targeted activation of the quadriceps and calf muscles to improve joint integrity and aid mobility and movement.

The Train knit is produced as a three-dimensional fabric with ideal elasticity to adapt with precision to the contours of the join. Its inherent superior moisture-wicking potential ensures optimal thermoregulation to enable long-term wear, reduce skin sensitivity, and prevent sweat accumulation during activity for a comfortable experience.

04 Functional Padding for Enhanced Stabilisation

The stabilising effects of the Train knit are reinforced through the integration of a functional silicone pad that encases the patella for an enhanced stabilising and therapeutic effect. This Omega+ pad is anatomically shaped and encases the patella to provide robust stabilisation to the kneecap, as well as directly reduce symptoms at the common site of injury. The pad induces a pressurised massage sensation at the anterior meniscal sites to reduce pain responses, prevent fluid accumulation through redistribution, and reduce tendon irritation at insertion sites.

05 Meniscus Wings to Reinforce Therapeutic Effect

Integrated within the Omega+ pad inferiorly are high-density friction nubs that sit adjacent to the anterior meniscal site. These meniscus wings directly target the meniscal space to maximise the relief of the joint space and stimulate natural healing metabolism in the joint.

06 Hoffa Spots to Stimulate Healing and Improve Mechanosensory Responses

In conjunction with the meniscal wings are two Hoffa spot friction nubs that further act to stimulate natural healing metabolism in the joint, with a strong focus upon neural stimulation. The Hoffa pads directly target the infrapatellar fat pad to stimulate sensorimotor and proprioceptive responses for improved joint neuromuscular stabilisation, coordination and movement.

ENSURING A PERFECT FIT

The GenuTrain Knee Support is available in multiple sizes to ensure a perfect fit. Refer to the guide below to correctly measure for this product:

1. The knee should be flexed at approximately 30 degrees whilst standing.
2. The starting point for measurement is on the lateral joint at the same level as the midpoint of the patella.
3. The first measurement (1) is extracted 14 cm up the thigh from the starting point.
4. The second measurement (2) is extracted 12 cm down the calf from the starting point.
